ASAC has two email groups available to members and friends: ASAC-Announce and ASAC-Chat. We are also on Facebook.

ASAC-Announce is a list for announcement of ASAC news and events. All the announcements are sent out by the list moderator, an ASAC volunteer. Members are added automatically to ASAC-Announce if they provide an email address upon joining ASAC. There are typically a few announcements a month.  The "from" line on these emails will show that the email is coming from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (or other addresses @asac.ab.ca, such as the Birth Issues editor, etc.). The list for this group is powered by MailChimp but maintained 100% by ASAC volunteers in Edmonton! This list is used strictly for communicating about ASAC events only.

ASAC-Chat is an unmoderated group open to ASAC members and friends for discussion on any topic of interest to the group members (and usually vaguely pertinent to ASAC). It is a Yahoo group, and you can look at and search back postings easily. Any member of the group can post messages with the other members of the group will see. Postings can be viewed at the group website, or emailed to list members.

Although the intent of this group is to provide a convenient discussion forum for ASAC members and friends, it is okay to (within reason) post about third party events on ASAC-Chat, look for childcare, or other miscellaneous items. Click here to join ASAC-Chat.

ASAC is also on Facebook! Like the ASAC-Chat group, the intent is to provide a convenient discussion forum for ASAC members and friends. We do have a rule that advertising businesses is not allowed on the main page; businesses can ask to be added to a document attached to our page. The Facebook group seems to be more and more replacing the Yahoo group, in terms of active community discussions about various topics related to birth and parenting. Click here to find ASAC's Facebook group and join! It is not necessary to be an ASAC member to be a member of the Facebook group.
